On Friday, May 31, North Street School held its annual field day for students K-2 and their families.

After a picnic-style lunch in the back field, students participated in 11 different activities from 12:00 to 2:30, including relay races, sack races, and a bouncy castle.

Most activities were limited to students, but families enjoyed participating in a tug-of-war.

In addition to faculty, North Street 5th graders helped organize and run activities.

Principal Jill Flood said the school’s K-2 Field Day is a terrific event and that the students look forward to it every year.

“Not only do all of the students in K-2 have a fun-filled day of playing games outside with their classmates, but the fifth graders have a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate their leadership skills,” she said.

Ms Flood said Field Day was a school tradition for the fifth graders to run each of the stations, helping the younger students to safely engage in the games and have a great time.

“Field Day is an excellent way for our students to get outside and have fun while also building school spirit,” she said.

The field day for grades 3-5 is on Friday, June 7, from 11:30 to 3:00.
