Greenwich Police Charge Duo for Retail Fraud on Greenwich Ave

Greenwich Police plainclothes officers spotted suspicious activity in a retail store on Greenwich Ave on the afternoon of July 9. Conducting in person surveillance, they spotted behavior consistent with retail fraud. Marshalee Nunes, 39, of Bronx, NY, and her co-conspirator Alpha A McQueen, 32, of Brooklyn, NY were detained, and on scene investigation revealed that Nunes conspired to return several stolen items to the retail store, totaling a financial loss of $620 as they exchanged the items. Additionally, police said that two foil-lined tote bags (booster bags) were discovered within Mr. McQueen's vehicle, along with other stolen merchandise from other jurisdictions. Ms Nunes was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 5, Larceny 5 and Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device (2 counts). Her bond was set at $5,000 and she was able to post the required 7% minimum cash option. She was assigned a date in Stamford Superior Court on July 24, 2024. Mr. McQueen was charged with Improper Use of Marker/License, Illegal Operation MV Under Suspension, Failure to Insure MV, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 5 and Illegal Possession of Shoplifting Device (2 counts). He was also able to post the 7% cash required of his $5,000 bond and shares the date in court on July 24, 2024.
