October 2020[/caption] Upon arrival, Officer Weinstock made contact with the patient and her husband, who related that the baby was not due for another three weeks, but that she was having abdominal pain. The couple were on the way to the hospital for a prenatal checkup. According to the couple, they hit a pothole on the highway en route and got two flat tires. They called 911 when the abdominal pain worsened, and she felt that she was in labor. The patient continued to have contractions. Officer Weinstock advised her to push on the next contraction after observing the baby’s head begin to crown. Upon her next contraction, Officer Weinstock assisted her with delivering a baby boy. The child started crying, which was a sign of good health, and was held safely until the arrival of medical personnel a few minutes later. GEMS personnel took over the medical care of the baby boy and the mother, both of whom were in stable condition and transported them to the Greenwich Hospital, where they continued to receive postpartum treatment. Officer Weinstock’s quick actions, comforting care, and training helped deliver a healthy baby boy and exemplify his unwavering commitment to the profession. His professionalism and demeanor define the Greenwich Police Dept's core values, serving as a role model for those who serve. Thank you for your dedication to duty, and congratulations on a job well done.
